Adolescent involvement in sports activities (sport involvement) has undergone a significant shift in the digital era, influenced by internal and external psychological factors. Two factors that have not been widely researched simultaneously are exercise self-efficacy and fear of missing out (FoMO). This study aims to analyze the influence of exercise self-efficacy and FoMO on sports involvement of adolescents who are active in sports. The study used a quantitative design with a survey approach on 350 adolescents aged 13–18 years who were selected through stratified random sampling in five secondary schools in the city of Bandung. The instruments used include the Sport Involvement Scale (20 items), the Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale (16 items), and the FoMO Scale (10 items) with a 5-point Likert format. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression. The results showed that exercise self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on sport involvement (? = .42, p < .001), while FoMO had a negative and significant effect (? = -.28, p < .001). Simultaneously, the two variables explained 38% of the variance in sport involvement (R² = .38, F(2, 347) = 105.82, p < .001). Exercise self-efficacy is the dominant positive predictor of adolescent sports involvement, while FoMO acts as a psychological barrier. These findings have important implications for the development of physical education programs based on strengthening self-efficacy and digital literacy.
